Following the departure of our former Musical Director, Brad Turnbull, earlier this year, Bilton Silver Band is delighted to announce that our very own Jack Fisher has stepped up from his role as Bandmaster to become our new Resident Conductor.
This is a natural progression for Jack, who has been at the heart of the Bilton Silver organisation for many years. A talented and versatile musician from a young age, Jack has played a wide variety of instruments within the band, including Tenor Horn, Eb Bass, and Percussion. His skills on the podium are equally impressive — as an accomplished conductor, he previously led our 4th section competing Evolution Band with great success. That ensemble is now under the baton of his sister — and the senior band’s Principal Cornet player — Jodie, proving that music truly runs in the family. With both parents also performing in the senior band, the Fishers are firmly woven into the very fabric of Bilton Silver!
Jack will make his first official appearance in his new role at our upcoming concert on Saturday 18th October at St Andrew’s Church, Rugby. This promises to be an unmissable evening of atmospheric film music from two of cinema’s most legendary composers — Hans Zimmer and John Williams. The band is especially excited to bring this thrilling programme to life under Jack’s direction, and we know our audience will be equally captivated.
Advance tickets are available at a reduced price until Friday 10th October, so don’t miss the chance to secure your seats for what promises to be a fantastic evening of music-making. Get your tickets now online at: biltonsilver.co.uk/js_events/zimmer-vs-williams.
We are proud to see one of our own stepping into this important role and look forward to an exciting new chapter under Jack’s leadership.
