Festive Favourites Fill St. Mark’s

Last night, Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band filled the magnificent St. Mark’s Church with the sounds of Christmas cheer as they presented their “Festive Favourites” concert. Under the expert leadership of Musical Director Brad Turnbull, the band delivered a delightful array of Christmas classics, ranging from traditional crowd sung carols to lively seasonal pieces from around the world.

The concert commenced with a rousing “A Christmas Intrada,” setting the stage for an evening filled with joyful festive spirit. The first half performance concluded with their rendition of “Caribbean Christmas” bringing a touch of island paradise to the chilly December night. The second half of the concert featured a captivating performance of “Gesu Bambino,” a traditional Italian Christmas carol that brought a touch of European charm to the evening, beautifully arranged by the band’s flugel horn player Judith Hayes.

The band is fortunate enough to have many talented soloists, including two senior band players who are also exceptional vocalists. Both halves of the concert were blessed by captivating vocals, firstly of Jennie Adnitt & secondly by Laura Moran. Jennie’s soulful rendition of “The Christmas Song” brought a touch of nostalgia and sentimentality, while Laura’s powerful performance of “Believe” from the film “The Polar Express” sent shivers of excitement down the spines of the listeners.

Bilton Silver’s “Festive Favourites” was an enchanting reminder of the true spirit of Christmas – bringing people together through the power of music and spreading joy and goodwill. The sell-out audience was unanimous in their praise for the band’s performance, with many expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate the holidays in such a heart-warming way.

The band extend their sincere thanks to all their followers for the unwavering support throughout the year and wish them the most wonderful Christmas and healthy New Year.
