Bilton Silver’s recent ‘A Night at the Musicals’ concert held at St Andrew’s Church, on 5th April was a real treat for musical theatre fans.
Featuring favourites from The Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton , Wicked, The Sound of Music, and Six, to name a few, the audience were tapping their feet and moved by emotive performances from our talented vocalists Laura Moran and Jennie Adnitt who never fail to add a touch of class.
Alister Rowe’s rendition of ‘Memory’ from the musical ‘Cats’ by Andrew Lloyd-Webber had the audience on the edge of their seats and our Principal Cornet player Jodie Kelsall gave a stunning performance of ‘Tomorrow’ from ‘Annie’, expertly arranged by her mum Dianne Fisher. What talent we have in our ranks!
The concert was compered by Helen Bierton (wife of our front row cornet player Rob). Helen wowed us with the number of costume changes during the evening and certainly added entertainment and humour, getting both the audience and band members involved, even presenting Jack with his very own T-Birds jacket to conduct ‘Grease’ in.
A special thanks must go to our Bandmaster and Principal Percussionist Jack Fisher, who stepped in last minute to lead the concert, due to our resident Musical Director Brad Turnbull being unwell. He led with his usual enthusiasm and took it all in his stride.
Keep your eyes peeled for dates for our Autumn concert which will be released soon…
