Bilton Silver Band’s recent “Disney in Brass” concert was a resounding success, selling out the historic St. Andrews Church in Rugby. An audience of 260 was treated to a magical evening filled with iconic melodies, stunning solos, and a touch of nostalgia.
The concert opened with “A Disney Fantasy” by Goff Richards, setting the stage for a night of enchantment. The band’s performance was vibrant and energetic, immediately captivating the audience.
One of the highlights of the evening was a cornet solo performed by Jodie Kelsall of “I See the Light” from Tangled. Her beautiful playing captured the essence of the song and showcased her exceptional talent.
The concert also featured two of the band’s members as vocal soloists. Laura Moran’s rendition of “Speechless” from the live-action Aladdin was both powerful and emotive. Jennie Adnitt’s heartfelt performance of “When She Loved Me” from Toy Story 2 brought tears to the eyes of many in the audience.
The band’s rendition of “Symphonic Highlights from Frozen” was a crowd-pleaser, featuring familiar melodies from the popular Disney film. The lively “Trepak” from Fantasia and Greg Little’s bass trombone solo of “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin further wowed the audience.
The concert concluded with a medley of classic Disney tunes, including “Reflection” from Mulan, “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid, and “The Mandalorian” theme. The second half featured “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, performed as a vocal duet by Laura Moran and Jennie Adnitt. The grand finale was music from “The Lion King” which brought the audience to a standing ovation.
