Our Friend, Ian Bowles

The band is saddened to announce the death of our long-standing friend and band stalwart, Ian Bowles, after a short illness.

Ian had 53 years of service with the band, in various playing positions, most recently on tenor horn. Ian was funny, loyal, clear thinking, and a real grafter for the band, having taken many of the administrative positions, including many years as treasurer and librarian. In recent times, Ian was instrumental in pushing through the band room redevelopment project, which resulted in the beautiful facility we now have.
Ian was Bilton Silver through and through, and we will miss him terribly.

Our thoughts are with Jean, Hannah and family.

The funeral is to be held on 5th December in Rugby.
