Retirement for Long Serving Member

Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band prides itself on having many long-serving members and in December 2022 one of our longest serving members took the sad decision to retire from playing.

Ian Bowles has clocked up 53 years of continuous service and during this time has played Soprano, Principal and front row Cornet and in latter years Tenor Horn. Ian has also been a dedicated committee member, currently serving as our Librarian as well as Treasurer; a post he will be standing down from after holding the position for a record 50 years!

As well as all the above, Ian headed up a separate committee and spent his first few years of retirement working tirelessly on funding applications and various other tasks to help us achieve the building of our fantastic rehearsal facility which we have today.

Ian will continue to hold his post as committee member and Librarian so this isn’t the last we will see of him.
