It doesn’t take much of an excuse for Bilton Silver to organise a party but this was a party with every good reason – our debut performance in the 1st section of the Midland Area Championships since promotion last year, 50th birthday for Paula Kelsall, Silver Wedding Anniversary for Neil and Paula Kelsall, 80th birthday for Joan Graham (just when she thought she’d kept her age a secret!), 21st birthday for Amy Wright and finally *!* birthday for Mark Allen.
Firstly, we do drink a lot! The revenue from The Barline was an amazing £435.00 and we must thank The Barline lads for their first class service and for working so hard to raise band funds. The champagne was served to toast all events, including, the success of Bilton Silver Band on their great performance on the day and 4th position.
The one and only Neil Kelsall then took to the stage and dedicated a beautiful rendition of Bring him Home to Paula. Bouquets, gifts, birthday cakes & candles for those celebrating added the finishing touch to a great night and to a great day for Bilton Silver.
Special thanks to Coral, Robert, Anais and Jodie for preparing the band room in time for our return and to Joan Graham for ‘volunteering’ to cook 130 sausages. Team Bilton at their best!
