A full capacity audience packed the Princethorpe College Chapel recently, all in aid of Myton Hospice.
“Jimmy’s Heroes” was the idea of 7-year old Bilton SilverTraining Band member Jimmy Scanlon, who wanted to give something back to Myton Hospice, who cared for his dad when he was ill.
More than 50 young musicians took to the stage in support of Jimmy and his mum, for an evening of musical performances featuring the Bilton Silver Training Band, Bilton Silver Academy4Youth, Crescent School Brass Group and several young soloists.
A varied programme to suit all tastes, ranged from The James Bond Theme to Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto, with Jimmy himself being the youngest soloist to take to the stage, in what was an evening of musical entertainment of the highest quality, wonderfully led by compere Mark Allen.
Following a thank you to Ed Hester, Head of PrincethorpeCollege, for generously allowing the use of the Chapel for the event, the evening concluded with some audience participation, a rousing rendition of Lily the Pink, and a fantastic total of £902, raised for Myton Hospice
