Bilton Silver is preparing to travel across the country to compete in the National Brass Band Finals for a 2nd consecutive year. Taking place on the morning of Saturday 22nd September 2012, at Cheltenham race course, bands awarded 1st or 2nd in their individual area contests will fight for the chance of automatic promotion that’s up for grabs. Holding the reins once more is the musical magician David Stowell, hoping for a repeat performance that won Bilton Silver 1st place in the Midlands area playing “Cross Patonce”.
This year the finest bands of the 2nd Section are tasked with playing Denis Wright’s arrangement of Johannes Brahms’ “Academic Festival Overture”.
