Class Brass with Bilton Concert – 10 May 2014

On Saturday 10th May the band made the journey over to Coventry to put on a charity concert in aid of the Georgina Cancer Unit at Russell’s Hall Hospital in Dudley. The University Students’ Union venue ‘Square One’ was all set for the event with an audience of 80 guests.  The band put on a fantastic performance of classic brass music including some fabulous solos from Jodie Fisher, Jennie Adnitt, Amy Wright, Laura Moran and Neil Kelsall including class items such as the Bare Necessities and I Know Him So Well from Chess.

The evening was a magnificent success raising £1010 for the unit. Many audience members had never seen the band perform before and were completely amazed by the sound and quality of the music they had heard during the evening. Amy’s Dad, who is currently being treated at the cancer unit, said ‘ it was a fabulous evening and the band have helped to raise a terrific amount of money which will help the ward in so many ways’. The event would not have been possible without the contributions of many people involved. The event will also be a component in Amy’s final year of her music degree. After such a successful evening maybe more success will follow when Amy receives her mark.
