Christmas 2013

There are  a couple of concerts coming up in December by Bilton Silver Band and Bilton Silver Training Band.

The first of these is a grand charity concert being held by the Training Band.

“Jimmy’s Heroes” is the idea of 7-year old Training Band and Mini-Brass member Jimmy Scanlon. Jimmy wanted to give something back to Myton Hospice, who cared for his dad when he was ill, and who continue to support Jimmy and mum Jo now. The training band and young soloists will be performing on Friday 6th December 2013 at Princethorpe College Chapel, at 7:30pm, to raise funds for the hospice, so that others can continue to receive the care and support that Jimmy and his family have.

Jimmy recently won the Training Band Ethos Award – awarded to the person who cheerfully embodies the ethos of training band – and we think that it couldn’t have gone to a more deserving winner!

Tickets are £5 – the attached poster gives details – it would be great if you could come along and support the fantastic youngsters (and the not-so-youngsters!) of our training band.

Later in December, the senior band will be playing at St Mark’s Church, Bilton, Rugby, onSaturday 21st December 2013, at 7:30pm. This family-friendly Christmas musical feast will run through til around 8:45pm (no interval) and will feature the band and soloists performing your favourite music for the season. Entry is by programme: £6 (£4 concessions). 16 and unders are free! Again, see the attached poster.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch for more info on either of these events.

And finally – do look out for the Christmas Cornet and Echo which will be falling onto your virtual doormat in the next few days and contains the latest news and information about the band.

We do hope to see you at one or both of these events, or around Rugby as we enter the Christmas carolling season.
