Introducing the band’s new Chairman, Matthew Moran.
Taking over from Dave Graham, Matt says “I’ve always had a strong love and passion for Bilton Silver Band since I joined the training band over 20 years ago. There are so many dedicated and passionate people throughout the organisation that impact the lives of others in such a positive way; I’m sure there is no other organisation like it. It is now my privilege and honour to be elected as chairman and to start repaying my debt of gratitude”.
Matt is the band’s principal BBb bass player and has been the band sergeant for the past 6 years. Outside of banding, Matt is a commercial pilot, flying Boeing 737s for a UK freight airline.
Matt and the band would like to thank Dave for his committed work as chairman over the past four years and we wish Matt luck as he undertakes the new role.
He says “I look forward to sitting down with the committee over the coming months to put together a plan for the progression of the entire organisation, from mini brass through to the senior band. What we need now is good communication, clear targets, and stability”.
